Brescia, Freccia Rossa: the bankruptcy auction has failed

Brescia. Of the entire property making up the Freccia Rossa, only the Virgin gymnasium part was awarded at auction.
No bids, instead, for the Freccia Rossa. The bankruptcy auction (lot 1 – bankruptcy proceeding Freccia Rossa Shopping Centre spa) of the Court of Milan on the properties of the former shopping centre was deserted. The gymnasium, on the other hand, was purchased for a value of Euro 3.25 million (minimum auction base was Euro 3,217,500).
As for the main building, the one that housed shops and other activities, the base price was EUR 29 million, with a minimum bid of EUR 21,750,000. The auction will be repeated on 27 September, with a 20% discount.

It was Mirko Tramontano’s Mycredit group that acquired the receivables of the Freccia Rossa from Altea spv srl (worth approximately EUR 25 million), i.e. 52% of them, which were admitted to the judicial liquidation of the property. The remaining 48%, however, belonged to the Italian fund Efesto of Fininst Sgr.
MyCredit, thus obtaining the majority of the credits, can pursue a new project designed for the 30,000 square metres of the former shopping centre.
The relaunch plan, in fact, would envisage the creation of a tourist hub for Brescia, with a showcase of gastronomic excellence: high-level restaurants, a children’s play area and a covered market.
But among the hypotheses under consideration is also that of creating a cultural centre or an entertainment space in the building.
