‘Brescia città curiosa’: three itineraries along and ‘under’ the city

Brescia. On Wednesday 17 July, three more appointments with “Brescia, città curiosa – unconventional walks in the city”, a cycle of guided tours with unusual, curious, special itineraries to discover the city’s history, secrets, tales and legends.
At 6.30 p.m. “Bresciastory” organises “Brescia Green”, a search for the city’s green lungs starting from the Parco dell’Acqua in Largo Torrelunga with the possibility of admiring significant monuments and the murals that embellish them.

At 8 p.m. “Brescia Underground” programme “Il Dugale e i segreti della Torre dell’Orologio, con visita alla stanza sotto la Torre dell’Orologio” (The Dugale and the secrets of the Clock Tower, with a visit to the room under the Clock Tower) a tour to get to know the Dugale, a historic waterway that crossed the porticoes of Via X Giornate, following the ancient route of the Mompiano aqueduct. Visit the underground environment in the Clock Tower in Piazza della Loggia with the 19th-century portion of the aqueduct and the underground sections such as the Scatola and the Fistula Grepa under Via Cesare Beccaria. The tour is suitable for people over the age of 5 with good physical fitness. Not accessible to those with mobility or walking difficulties. Access not accessible to wheelchairs/passengers. Animals not allowed.
It is necessary to wear sports shoes and carry a torch.

At 8 p.m. “Oltre il Tondino” proposes “No spritz just pirlo” an itinerary full of curiosities that explores Brescian identity through art, history, gastronomy and the traditional local aperitif, the pirlo.

For family visits, the presence of one adult for every 3 minors is required (children in prams are not counted). Cancellation by email or Whatsapp is required within 24 hours of the start of the visit.
The meeting point will be communicated to participants once the booking list has been closed for groups of max. 30 people (25 people per Bresciaunderground).
