86-year-old man’s car goes the wrong way on the Corda Molle, two victims

Montichiari. An 86-year-old man, Bruno Agnari from Ghedi, and a young man of 28, Pietro Meini from Bagnolo, lost their lives this Saturday, 10 August, in a very serious road accident that occurred after 7 p.m. between Montichiari and Castenedolo on the Corda Molle in the lane heading towards Ospitaletto.
According to the available reconstruction, the elderly man’s car, an Audi A3, mistakenly entered the motorway slip road in the wrong direction, colliding head-on with another Audi A3 coming from the opposite direction and driven by the young man from Bagnolo Mella. Due to the impact, the front of Bruno Agnari’s car was completely destroyed, the vehicle overturned and the 86-year-old man died instantly.
The driver at the wheel of the other car involved, 28-year-old Pietro Meini, was seriously injured and was transported in a red code to Brescia’s Civile Hospital, where he unfortunately died in the night between Saturday and Sunday.
Medical personnel, traffic police and fire brigade were on the scene. The road was temporarily closed in the direction of Ospitaletto with serious repercussions on traffic, which only normalised late at night.
