Lonato. Five people were injured in a serious accident that occurred around 4 p.m. on this Sunday afternoon, 11 August, in Via Mantova in Lonato, almost on the border with Castiglione delle Stiviere, where there was a head-on collision between two cars.
The dynamics are still being defined by the Carabinieri of the Desenzano company, who have carried out the investigations, but it seems that the driver of a Polo car coming from Mantua and heading towards Desenzano lost control, invading the opposite lane and colliding with a Lancia Delta travelling towards Castiglione.
Three of the injured are said to be in serious condition, especially a mother (transported by helicopter to the Civile hospital) and her son, who were hospitalised. They are residents of Montichiari. The woman’s boyfriend was also hospitalised.
On the spot, medical rescuers and two helicopters intervened, transporting the injured to Brescia’s Civile hospital. The effects on traffic in the area were heavy, with long traffic jams lasting several hours.
