Montichiari. The announced bad weather that hit the province of Brescia again on Thursday, 12 September caused widespread damage in the province.
In Montichiari, rain and strong gusts of wind caused a tree to fall on a van in transit along Viale Europa. Fortunately the driver, apart from the big scare, did not suffer any serious consequences.
The mayor Marco Togni, after removing the tree, requested the intervention of an agronomist, who found that the tree was affected by a malformation of the ‘choked root’, which is not visible from the above-ground part of the stem and therefore, precisely because it is not anchored to the ground, susceptible to a greater likelihood of falling in the event of weather events similar to those that occurred on Thursday.
