Riva del Garda. A young hiker lost his life shortly before 5 p.m. this Friday, 13 September, while he was walking along the Ponale road, the one that goes up the valley of the Ponale torrent, connecting Lake Ledro with Riva del Garda.
A section of the route is very scenic and runs sheer above Lake Garda: the boy fell while driving along it, more or less at the height of tunnel 2.
The details of the tragedy have not yet been made known, but when the rescue services arrived on the scene with medical personnel, mountain rescue and the police, there was unfortunately nothing more for the young man to do. The doctor had no choice but to pronounce the death of the young victim, whose details have not yet been released.
