Laura Castelletti is Shadow commissioner of Eurocities

Brescia. The Mayor of Brescia Laura Castelletti is among the Shadow commissioners of Eurocities, the network of Europe’s most important cities. The Shadow Commission is a Eurocities initiative created to guarantee cities a central role in European policy-making. Led by Eurocities President and Mayor of Leipzig Burkhard Jung, it follows Eurocities‘ campaign “A better Europe starts in cities”, and will make mayors’ voices heard as counterparts and direct interlocutors of the European Commission College.
The ‘Shadow Commission’ is composed of twenty mayors and mayoresses, plus the president, and sixteen deputy mayors and deputy mayoresses of Eurocities member cities, each with a portfolio reflecting the critical priorities of cities at the European level.
Laura Castelletti is Shadow commissioner for the Education and Skills area. Castelletti was chosen as shadow commisioner from among the mayors and mayoresses of over two hundred cities that are members of Eurocities, along with her only three other Italians: the mayor of Bologna Matteo Lepore, the mayor of Florence Sara Funaro and the deputy mayor of Milan Anna Scavuzzo.
