Berlucchi racks up Gold medals at the Champagne & Sparkling Championships

Borgonato in Franciacorta. A note from the company states that ‘Guido Berlucchi’ has once again confirmed itself as a symbol of Italian excellence in the world of Metodo Classico. A pioneer of Franciacorta, the winery that created the territory’s first bottle was awarded eight gold medals in the prestigious world classification drawn up by Tom Stevenson, one of the world’s leading experts on Champagne and Sparkling Wines.
‘Stevenson, founder of the Champagne & Sparkling Wine World Championships, is recognised for his ability to influence the international fine wines market, making this achievement a further source of pride for Berlucchi and for Italy. Participation in this prestigious championship is not only an honour, but also a confirmation of the value of Berlucchi, which continues to be a point of reference in the international panorama of quality sparkling wines,’ the press release further reads.
For 2024, Berlucchi has sent a selection of the ‘61 and ’61 Nature lines, both dedicated to the year of birth of the first Franciacorta, created thanks to the intuition of Franco Ziliani and Guido Berlucchi. These two lines represent two cornerstones for the Brescian winery, symbols of a legacy that continues to renew itself with excellence. The winery participated with references both in bottle and magnum format, ranking first in Franciacorta with the highest number of Gold medals and also achieving an excellent result in terms of the number of awards worldwide.
This success is part of a broader picture that sees Italy as the most internationally awarded country, testifying to the constant qualitative growth of Italian wine in the world.

Our ‘61 and “61 Nature lines, dedicated to the year the first Franciacorta was born, fully represent our winery and will always be symbols of the tradition and innovation that guide us”.
