The Consorzio Valtènesi ‘Rosso dell’Anno’ is from the Le Gaine farm

Bedizzole. Paolo Cottini’s Le Gaine winery in Bedizzole conquered the podium of the ‘Sante Bonomo Prize’ for the Red Wine of the Year, established by the Consorzio Valtènesi in memory of past president Sante Bonomo. The selection included Groppello-based red wines that had already won the diploma of excellence (i.e. with a score of 85/100 or more) at the official wine competition for Doc Riviera del Garda Classico-Valtènesi at the Polpenazze del Garda Wine Fair. The samples were again tasted by a panel of experts, who decreed Riviera del Garda Classico Doc Groppello as the winner.
The Bonomo Award ceremony, which took place at Villa Galnica di Puegnago del Garda (headquarters of the Consortium), accompanied the presentation of the booklet ‘A spasso per la Valtènesi’ (Wandering around Valtènesi), a publication realised by the Consortium Valtènesi with the illustrator Elisa Delai and Kito Studio and dedicated to children.
The project represents a dissemination tool to bring the new generations closer to the knowledge of vines, wine and the oenological activity that has always characterised the Valtènesi territory: an innovative tool that Paolo Pasini, president of the Valtènesi Consortium, symbolically donated to the headmistress of the Valtènesi Comprehensive Institute. To underline the importance of the educational project, the Lombardy Region’s Councillor for Education, Training and Labour, Simona Tironi, and the Lombardy Region’s Councillor for Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry, Alessandro Beduschi, sent their greetings.
